Qualifications:
Wiregrass
Rehabilitation Center Staff are qualified in CPR and First Aide.
Staff also receive specific training in areas related directly to working
with individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment.

The
goal of Employment Services is to assist individuals in developing job
opportunities by placing them in the job market. They are assisted
in obtaining employment in order to earn a living and becoming a part
of the productive workforce of America. After being employed, they are
assisted by an employment specialist serving each community in making
appropriate work decisions and in maintaining employment. The
skill level of the individual helps each person in meeting the demands
of the workplace

In
employment development training, the initial emphasis of the consumer’s
program focuses on safety. When this has been thoroughly covered
and explained, the development process moves on to focus primarily on
work behavior training where consumers are assisted in developing the
necessary work habits required to become employed and retain employment.

Vocational
Evaluation:
Services
are provided for individuals referred by public or private organizations.
Vocational evaluations are provided for workman’s compensation/injured
worker cases. Court appearances with a vocational expert are available.
The mission of WRC is to provide services to assist individuals with
vocational disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment and
maximizing independent living.
Extended
Employment

If
the individual does not meet competitive employment requirements,
he/she will continue in extended Organizational Employment.
If there is a reasonable expectation the consumer may be capable
of working in competitive employment, he/she will be assisted in
job placement through another program provided by WRC, Inc.
Adult
Daycare
Wiregrass
Adult Care, LLC is supported by allocations from State of Alabama/DHR,
the Southeast Council on Aging, Alabama Dept of Public Health, the City
of Dothan, the City of Enterprise, the city of Elba, Coffee County and
Houston County.
