EXTENDED EMPLOYMENT

Meet our success stories:

Ms Diane Anderson has been an employee of WRC for over 20 years.  Ms Diane attributes her success in her job to her dedication and hard work.  Ms Diane, as we call her here, is a valuable employee who contributes to the success and is an example for both staff and consumers.

 Extended Employment is provided those consumers who are in the process of extensive training for competitive employment. Program Management is provided for each individual.  The individual is assisted in obtaining the following:

·        Earned income

·        Transitional or long term employment

·        Independent living skills

·        Work in various training sites

o       Production, assembly,  disassembly, collating

o       Janitorial

o       Housekeeping

o       Lawn Care

o       Food Service

o      Laundry

Organizational Employees are assigned jobs based on the following:

·         Interests

·         Preference

·         Choices

·         Available work

If the individual needs more time to meet competitive employment requirements, he/she will continue in extended Organizational Employment.  If there is a reasonable expectation the consumer may be capable of working in competitive employment, he/she will be assisted in job placement through another program provided by WRC, Inc.
