Making a difference
A message from WRC Executive Director Paul Lee
For nearly six decades, Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center (WRC), Inc. has worked with community partners and concerned citizens to create a better, more tolerant, more accepting environment in which every person who wants to work, regardless of their limitations, can have a fair opportunity to earn a living.
Individuals with vocational disabilities continue to face a 75% rate of unemployment. Employment barriers include a lack of transportation and stereotyping. These barriers often create a bleak picture for those who genuinely want to work and live independent productive lives.
WRC has made a difference, whether it be in the lives of the individuals trained, the bottom lines of the companies served or the perceptions that have been changed forever. Through hard work, determination, and (in no small part) the dedication of those directly affected, WRC has transformed people.
The success of our client’s journey toward personal independence depends on many factors, but it always has been and will continue to be a collective effort between WRC, referral agencies, the community and the individual. The Board of Directors and employees of WRC are committed to making a difference in the lives of individuals. I am asking you to continue the legacy that many concerned citizens, business partners, and community leaders have cultivated since 1958. WRC’s Retired President Dr. Jack Sasser has helped make it possible to continue training and employment opportunities for individuals with vocational disabilities. You can impact lives for years to come by contributing to The WRC Legacy Campaign.
WRC is depending on your tax deductible assistance and generosity. Without the continued support of donors like you, these needs will likely go unmet. The results are clear – WRC changes lives through work. To pledge your support, donate online or send your donation by mail. Please be assured that your contribution will be put to good use to provide help to individuals in need of assistance right here in our community. Thank you for your consideration and continued support.
